ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • The Critical Lands Coordinator develops, manages and advances conservation programs, plans and methods for chapter, state and regional priorities. S/he may provide technical leadership and support to the region, state and chapter. This may include one or more of the following functions:
  •     Employs a full range of protection tools to acquire varying degrees of legal interest in land and implements a variety of strategies to secure public and private support for TNC conservation priorities.
  •     Secures public and private financial support for transactions and projects.
  •     Applies knowledge of politics and society with respect to environmental affairs.
  •     Addresses critical threats to natural systems and individual species.
  •     Coordinates community support to ensure project success.
  •     Fosters cross-site learning among a diverse conservation community.
  •     Supplies whole system and ecoregional planning teams with information for site portfolios.
  •     Develops and implements conservation strategies to protect and restore lands and waters.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  •     BA/BS, in law, business, finance, environmental policy, or environmental sciences and 5 years of experience in natural resource management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  •     Experience negotiating complex agreements.
  •     Experience communicating with the public and/or media both in writing and verbally.
  •     Experience using common software applications such as Word, Excel, Web browsers, etc.
  •     Experience in GIS.
