About the Job:

WWB is seeking a Compliance Associate for its finance team. S/he will lead the grant and contract management of the organization.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

    Within the first four weeks:


  •         Familiarize with finance department processes;
  •         Learn and comprehend organization’s compliance and financial needs;
  •         Become trained in and fully integrate the use of Echosign and Intacct accounting software into day-to-day activities.
  •     Within the first six months:
  •         Identify and begin to deliver on opportunities for further efficiencies in organization's compliance process;
  •         Lead and maintain all aspects of the grant management process;
  •         Develop an organization-wide consultant evaluation process as a supplement to the procurement needs of the organization.
  •     Ongoing responsibilities:
  •         Facilitate all procurement and contract procedures by keeping compliance policies and internal controls up to date, maintaining current protocols, as well as recommending system improvements;
  •         Maintain compliance requirements of all grants by ensuring internal controls and financial and legal requirements are upheld, ensuring that all contracts meet specific grant standards, and working with project managers to ensure that grant requirements are being maintained;
  •         Assist with general finance activities by analyzing and performing reconciliations of accounts and financial records, processing invoices for approval, and ensure that all financial procedures are in place and complied with;
  •         Responsible for management and oversight of the organization’s record retention policy;
  •         Update and maintain legal contracting templates;
  •         Negotiate contractual terms with donors and consultants;
  •         Perform administrative duties such as maintaining records and financial schedules.

Qualifications:

  •     Bachelor's degree with strong academic performance;
  •     Minimum of 1 year experience in compliance, grant management, or accounting, preferably in a non-profit environment;
  •     Accomplished self-starter with experience working independently;
  •     Ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize competing demands;
  •     Strong communication skills, and an ability to effectively work with internal and external stakeholders;
  •     Strong organizational capabilities;
  •     Analytical skills and strong attention to detail;
  •     Fluency in Spanish is desirable.
