 About the Organization:
Truelift is a global initiative to renew focus on the pro-poor objective of microfinance. It is administratively housed at the Microcredit Summit Campaign in Washington DC. It provides a framework, learning environment, and recognition, advocates for a pro-poor agenda in microfinance, and focuses a lens of poverty on other initiatives. It also aligns profitability with the social inclusion of people living in poverty and simplifies and works within existing frameworks to remain manageable and efficient.

About the Job:
Truelift is seeking an unpaid Marketing and Communications Intern. S/he will support the marketing of the initiative, including research, blogging, and social media. S/he will support the organization's director in Colorado, and work with the Chicago-based senior program associate. This position is based in Colorado.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

•     Identify, manage, and grow organization’s presence on internet based social communities (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.);
•     Produce and edit high quality content for the organization's blog, including reading current relevant articles and suggesting a commentary for the organization;
•     Identify key metrics and track outreach and engagement using the organization's database;
•     Research academics, researchers, and initiatives focused on microfinance, monitoring and evaluation, poverty outreach, etc.;
•     Create marketing materials to promote the seal at conferences, industry events, and online.

Qualifications:

•     Undergraduate junior or senior or Graduate student;
•     Demonstrated creativity and documented immersion in social media;
•     Excellent research skills and ability to communicate findings to a broad audience;
•     Knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, Microsoft Publisher, or similar highly desirable;
•     Fluency in spoken and written English required. Proficiency in multiple languages a plus (Spanish, French, Arabic, Russian);
•     Start-up experience a plus.
