Overview:
The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) was established in 2002 to increase access to care and
treatment for people living with HIV/AIDS and to strengthen health systems in resource-poor countries. Over the past few years, CHAI has expanded the scope of our work to include access to high-quality treatment for malaria, new vaccines, and essential treatments for common childhood illnesses such as diarrhea and pneumonia. CHAI has also increasingly supported governments to build the capacity required for high-quality health care and treatment programs. Currently, CHAI partners with governments in more than 25 countries while more than 70 countries directly benefit from the low-priced drugs and diagnostic test agreements that CHAI has negotiated.

Responsibilities:

  •     Annually assess existing global, HQ and country financial policies and procedures and recommend improvements to policy owners
  •     Conduct regular gap analysis of current business processes and recommend priorities and goals for improved processes
  •     Develop annual financial risk assessment and internal audit plan.
  •     Coordinate and execute audit plan leveraging internal and external resources
  •     Prepare/review all internal audit reports including findings, recommendations and remediation plans
  •     Track all internal and external findings and remediation plans. Coordinate/execute remediation follow up.
  •     Coordinate internal teams, including Headquarters departments, country teams and global teams, on audit and compliance issues
  •     Assist country teams and Headquarters staff in preparing for audits
  •     Coordinate and assist CHAI teams in preparing for and completing annual US-government mandated A-133 audits
  •     Working with CHAI's Finance team, conduct monthly and ad hoc ‘spot check' mini-audits of randomly selected teams
  •     Research, collect and maintain information on applicable country regulations including, but not limited to, statutory audits requirements, tax compliance requirements, and regular financial filings

Qualifications:

  •     Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting/Operations
  •     At least 3 years of experience in Finance/Audit/Compliance related roles
  •     Masters in Accounting/Audit/Finance or MBA is a plus
  •     Tenacity and independence of thought and judgment
  •     An understanding of and commitment to CHAI's mission and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with country and global teams.
  •     Experience with audit procedures including planning, technique, tests and sampling methods
  •     Skill and experience in gathering, analyzing and evaluating facts
  •     Ability to assess processes and systems and where appropriate, positively challenge the status quo and explore options and recommend improvements.
  •     Strong interpersonal skills
  •     High sense of integrity
  •     Entrepreneurial spirit
  •     Willingness and ability to travel internationally (approximately 4x per year)
