VisionFund International (VFI) is the microfinance subsidiary of World Vision International (WVI). VFI works in partnership with WVI and helps to improve the lives of children in the developing world by offering small loans and other financial services to families living in poverty.

About the Job:

VFI is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to help manage a number of core finance functions including cash management, loan analysis, borrowings, donations, and reporting. S/he will ensure that organization's financial resources are monitored effectively and used efficiently. S/he will provide support to other finance staff by maintaining efficient processes providing key analysis required for decision making. The position is based in Monrovia, CA.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

    Cash management:
  •         Manage liquidity requirements according to organization's policy and guidelines;
  •         Monitor bank balances request transfers as necessary;
  •         Prepare monthly cash flow forecast.
  •     Loan tracking and analysis:
  •         Maintain loan tracking database and update as required;
  •         Provide timely loan documentation to VFI accounting;
  •         Monitor MFI loan repayment schedules and follow up  on delinquencies.
  •     Borrowings:
  •         Maintain database of debt contracts and repayment schedules;
  •         Process timely payments of interest and principal as required;
  •         Work with WVI treasury to ensure all foreign currency debt is properly hedged.
  •     Donations:
  •         Monitor receipts of donor funds and ensure proper recording in organization's tracking system;
  •         Work with WVI support Offices to understand designation of funds;
  •         Follow guidelines for disbursement of donor funds and work with organization's portfolio manager to disburse loan capital.
  •     MFI reporting and analysis:
  •         Assist in review of monthly MFI reports;
  •         Prepare MFI monthly trend and variance reports;
  •         Engage with MFI finance staff to answer questions on monthly reports and to correct errors.

Qualifications:

  •     Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting or related field (MBA or CPA a plus);
  •     Ability to read and interpret financial statements;
  •     Must be experienced in use of database software systems;
  •     Knowledge of advance Excel with ability to create dynamic new reports and automated solutions;
  •     Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint;
  •     Ability to both communicate and train others in policies and tracking processes;
  •     Culturally sensitive and willing to be flexible in hours given the wide time zones of work;
  •     Willingness to travel internationally (10%);
  •     Some understanding of international legal framework a plus;
  •     Good communication and influence skills in both oral and written forms;
  •     Visual Basic knowledge a plus;
  •     Microsoft Access experience a plus.
